As the fourth generation lighting source,LED pineapple-shaped lamp is different from the incandescent lamp,namely lighting through heating tungsten filament,of which 95% electric power is changed into heat and is wasted, and different from energy saving lamp or fluorescent lamp either,namely lighting through exciting phosphor by mercury vapor,of which ballast consumes as high as 20% of electric power. It deploys solid semiconductor chip as luminescent material and causes photon to directly emit light through surplus energy released through recombination of carrier.
